Bachelor of Science in
Landscape Architecture

Architects are required to complete a four year undergraduate

horticulture and design theory, as well as many safety
considerations including storm water management, accessibility
considerations, lighting, and much more. These programs ensure

Contractors License
Landscaping is an
industry fraught with businesses operating without proper licenses.
In the sate of Virginia, you are required to hold a contractors
license to operate. Again, this is another level of assurance
to clients as they may contact the Department of Professional and

Inspection

continues to enact stringent codes on irrigation systems.
Currently, all irrigation systems, commercial or residential, must
have a backflow device installed to prevent contamination of the municipal
water supply. These devices must meet precise requirements and
be tested by a licensed Backflow Device Inspector annually. As
