• Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture

  • Landscape Architects are required to complete a four year undergraduate program in a related field.  The programs include teachings in horticulture and design theory, as well as many safety considerations including storm water management, accessibility considerations, lighting, and much more.  These programs ensure that future Landscape Architects have a well rounded knowledge of every facet of landscape design and implementation.

• Certified Landscape Architect

  • One of the most important accreditations that a landscape designer can hold is to be certified as a Landscape Architect by the state.  It is illegal to use the title "Landscape Architect" without this accreditation.  The process is designed to keep the client safe by ensuring that the Landscape Architect is competent and knowledgeable in t practice

• American Society of Landscape Architects

  • ASLA is an organization that represents landscape design professionals nationwide.  They encourage training and licensing of landscaping professionals in every state and help keep their members up-to-date on current legislation and code requirements.  The association also works hard to support the general public by providing a way to ensure that your Landscape Architect is qualified.  Members of the American Society of Landscape Architects may use the "ASLA" designation after their signatures.

• Contractors License

  • Landscaping is an industry fraught with businesses operating without proper licenses.  In the sate of Virginia, you are required to hold a contractors license to operate.  Again, this is another level of assurance to clients as they may contact the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DPOR) during disputes.

  • Many clients will ask if a contractor is insured, but few ask for proof.  Not only is it important to see proof of insurance, but it is also important to know what level of insurance is secured.  Please ask for further information about our insurance policy.

• Backflow Device Inspection

  • Charlottesville continues to enact stringent codes on irrigation systems.  Currently, all irrigation systems, commercial or residential, must have a backflow device installed to prevent contamination of the municipal water supply.  These devices must meet precise requirements and be tested by a licensed Backflow Device Inspector annually.  As part of our irrigation installation and maintenance services, we offer backflow device certification by our licensed Inspector.
